The New York Islanders announced Tuesday that Lake Superior State junior defenseman Kevin Czuczman has agreed to a two-year, entry-level contract and will report directly to the Islanders.
Czuczman posted career highs in goals (10) and points (21) in 36 games in his junior season at LSSU in 2013-14 and his 10 goals led all WCHA defensemen and are currently second in the nation for all blueliners.
In 114 career games with the Lakers, the 23-year-old Czuczman registered 14 goals and 31 assists for 45 points. He was named LSSU’s most valuable defenseman in 2012-13 and was named the team’s top freshman in 2011-12.
