Marie-Philip Poulin helped Canada capture a fourth Olympic gold medal in women’s hockey Thursday with a 3-2 overtime win over the United States in Sochi, Russia.
Poulin, who has played three seasons at Boston University, scored the game-tying goal with 55 seconds left in regulation and then the winner on a power play 8:10 into overtime.
Switzerland and Yale forward Phoebe Staenz took the bronze medal with a 4-3 win over Sweden.
The Canadian team was chock-full of current and former NCAA players, as was the United States roster.
