Boston College junior forward Kevin Hayes, just back from a team-imposed suspension, suffered a contusion to his right quadriceps muscle during Tuesday night’s game against Massachusetts-Lowell and underwent surgery Wednesday to release pressure on the area.
According to a BC-issued news release, the surgery involved release of fascia to prevent long-term damage to the muscle and was performed by a vascular surgeon at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Brighton, Mass.
Now in stable condition, Hayes will miss the remainder of the season during the recovery process.
