Hamline has announced Jason Verdugo as its new athletic director, effective May 1.
Verdugo, Hamline’s baseball coach for the past 11 seasons, has also served as director of compliance for all of Hamline’s 19 sports teams for the past eight years and has spent the past 11 years involved in fundraising for the athletic program.
From 2004-2007, Verdugo was the assistant athletic director at Hamline.
“Jason Verdugo has a wealth of experience in athletic leadership and in working with student athletes, parents and fellow coaches,” Hamline president Linda Hanson said in a statement. “He is a natural fit for this role and we look forward to the strengths he brings in helping to further cultivate and shape a thriving, robust athletic program for Hamline.”
Hamline’s men’s and women’s Division III hockey teams play in the MIAC.
