After announcing last month that he was leaving Michigan for a contract with the New Jersey Devils, Wolverines’ junior defenseman Brandon Burlon made it official Thursday.
Chosen by the Devils in the second round (52nd overall) in the 2008 NHL draft, Burlon played in 116 career games for Michigan, scoring 13 goals and 34 assists for 47 points. He accumulated a +43 plus/minus rating and earned 66 penalty minutes.
As a junior in 2010-11, he set career highs for points (18) and assists (13), while tying his career-best goal total (5).
