This is it for the regular season. Every team is playing for something even though some clarity has come to the final regular season standings.
Both Hobart and Manhattanville are stumbling across the finish line. Manhattanville has had a week off to try to fix the disaster of the previous three weekends in league play. Hobart, on the other hand, got derailed last weekend at Neumann. I think they will split this weekend in two very close games.
Elmira, Neumann, and Utica play a threesome this weekend to close out the season. The games are most important to Neumann and Utica as they are trying to solidify their NCAA bids as well as gain a home game in the semifinal.
My upset pick of the weekend is Utica beating Elmira on Saturday. The Aud will be rockin’ and I think that will help the Pioneers finally play well against Elmira. The Soaring Eagles have won the previous two meetings this season 6-0 and 5-1, but Utica is a better team than those scores reflect.
As the regular season winds down this weekend, this will be my final picks blog of the year. I prefer to sit back and enjoy watching the playoff games as they unfold, instead of attempting to prognosticate the results. Enjoy the ride.
