After a very successful holiday tournament season, the ECAC West hits the heart of its non-conference play over the next three weeks. Each of these games will be crucial for tournament selection at the end of the season, so the teams can’t let up at all.
This is the last week of midweek games as teams are in action five of the next seven days.
The big game this week is Elmira at Plattsburgh. With a 4-3 non-conference record, every game outside the ECAC West has magnified importance for the Soaring Eagles. Plattsburgh, on the other hand, is trying to prove that it is for real and have been on a solid roll since before the holidays.
Last Week: 9-1
Overall: 23-7

Curry at Utica – Curry hits the midway point of its tour around the ECAC West. The Colonels lost to Neumann and tied Elmira at the start of the season, but now are in mid-season form as they head to Utica. But the Pioneers are very difficult to play at The Aud.
Manhattanville at Cortland – Manhattanville has been climbing the national standings and should continue the roll at Cortland.
Potsdam at Neumann – Last year, Neumann and Potsdam split a pair of games this very same weekend, with the Knights winning on Friday night.
Saturday, January 8
Potsdam at Neumann – This year, Neumann should complete the sweep and prevent the Bears from winning on Saturday.
Cortland at Utica – Cortland continues its struggles against ECAC West teams, this time as they faceoff against Utica.
Elmira at Plattsburgh – Plattsburgh is on a roll and a mission. The Cardinals have won eight games in a row and yet are still not nationally ranked. Elmira, on the other hand, has struggled in non-conference play.
Hobart at Fredonia – Hobart is on its longest winning streak of the season.
Sunday, January 9
Morrisville at Manhattanville – Morrisville proved that it can take down giants this year when the Mustangs beat Plattsburgh in November. Manhattanville will need to ensure it doesn’t fall into the same trap.
Tuesday, January 11
Fredonia at Elmira – After an always tough trip to Plattsburgh, Elmira should enjoy an easier go of it at home against Fredonia.
Hobart at Buffalo State – Hobart hits the middle of its seven straight road games at Buffalo State.
Thursday, January 13
Manhattanville at Curry – Manhattanville travels to take on the Colonels in its third game in seven days.
