ECAC West picks Dec 3-7

Things picked up (literally) last week for my weekly picks.  It was a good week of turkey and hockey fun but now the crazy holiday season is upon us.  The premier games this week are the two league contests, one each on Friday and Saturday.

If you are in central or western New York and have Time Warner cable, the Hobart at Potsdam game on Saturday is being televised.  It will air live Saturday on Time Warner Sports Central and tape delay on Time Warner Sports Rochester on Sunday at 4:30pm.

Last Week:  3-1

Overall:  8-5

{predicted winners bolded}

Friday, December 3

Elmira at Fredonia – As Elmira tries to shore things up in its own zone, what better medicine than to play the third lowest scoring team in the SUNYAC?

Manhattanville at Utica – Manhattanville has momentum from last week’s road trip.  Utica got a confidence boost with a win over Amherst last weekend.  Which will carry the day in this game?

Saturday, December 4

Hobart at Potsdam – Hobart heads on the road for only the second time this season.  The Statesmen will need to learn how to play away from The Cooler as they play nine out of ten games away after the holidays.

Neumann at Elmira – Neumann beat Elmira 1-0 at home three weeks ago.  While Elmira has been struggling a bit early in games since then, the Soaring Eagles should hold serve at The Domes.

Utica at Buffalo State – After a tough game against Manhattanville on Friday, Utica should have an easier time of it in this game at Buffalo State.

Tuesday, December 7

Conn. College at Manhattanville – The Valiants need to be sure not to look past Conn. College at Playland.

Wednesday, December 8

Buffalo State at Hobart  – The Statesmen look to take advantage of home ice against Buffalo State, before the teams meet up again in January.
