ECAC West picks Nov 26-28

Last week didn’t go so well for my picks.  I had one of my very few ever losing weeks, going 2-3 on the weekend.  I certainly didn’t see the thumping that Neumann put on Manhattanville nor the troubles Hobart would have with Geneseo.

Last Week:  2-3

Overall:  5-4

Now it is on to Turkey Day.  Hopefully the ECAC West teams will stuff their records with an ample portion of non-conference contests.

{predicted winners bolded}

Friday, November 26

Cortland at Neumann – Neumann’s rough and tumble style of play should give it a distinct advantage over Cortland.

Manhattanville at Amherst – Manhattanville is in the middle of playing four games in nine days after coming off a two week break.  The Valiants barely squeaked out a 7-6 win over Western New England on Tuesday despite outshooting them 48-20.  Amherst is a better team than Western New England so Manhattanville will have its hands full again.

Saturday, November 27

Cortland at Neumann – The ECAC West hasn’t been fairing as well as normal against the SUNYAC but Neumann should be able to sweep Cortland on the weekend to get the league into the winning category.

Elmira vs. Southern Maine – Elmira opens play in the Skidmore Invitational against Southern Maine and should be able to handle the Huskies in the early game.  Depending on how things go, the Soaring Eagles will face either Skidmore or Buffalo State on Sunday.

Amherst at Utica – A rested Utica will look to take the body against Amherst.

Sunday, November 28

Manhattanville at Williams – The Valiants finish off their grueling week on the road against Williams.
