Last week, the Irish Seer was a dreadful 1-5, with Adrian’s 7-3 victory over Marian on Friday his lone correct prediction (albeit a few goals off) …. and the missus wants us to spend our 25th wedding anniversary in Las Vegas? Hide the poker chips.

St. Norbert at UW-Stevens Point: The is a marquee matchup, as the No. 3 Green Knights clash with the No. 10 Pointers, who are on a four-game roll which includes a season-defining 5-1 win over No. 11 Hamline. The team is 3-0 against ranked squads, while all four wins have been on the road. UW-Stevens Point has all of its lines clicking, with 20 players scoring at least a point, and this season’s netminding revelation in sophomore Nick Graves (4-0, 1.25 GAA, .956 save-percentage). What does St. Norbert have? Steely resolve, and that starts with All-NCHA goalie B.J. O’Brien, who is looking to bounce back from Friday’s 4-3 loss to Hamline. Johan Ryd (2 goals, 4 assists) and Scott Pulak (6 assists) lead the resilient Green Knights in scoring.
UW-Stevens, 4-2; St. Norbert, 2-1
Gustavus Adolphus vs. St. Olaf: This home-and-home encounter features MIAC teams on divergent trajectories as they open conference play. The miserly Gusties’ three wins this season have come by a combined score 6-2. When the team runs and guns, as it did in a 4-3 loss to nonconference foe Wisconsin-Eau Claire, the results are not as favorable. The Oles (2-2) indifferent start has ranged from a 5-1 blowout win over host St. Thomas Nov. 5 to a tepid 3-1 loss at Saint Mary’s the next night. This weekend series will be a split, with home-advantage coming into play.
St. Olaf, 2-1; Gustavus, 4-2

Marian at Milwaukee School of Engineering: With last Saturday’s victory over No. 12 Adrian, No. 15 Marian (4-1) exorcised the demons that had accompanied its rival’s unshakable hold on the MCHA. The Sabres’ prolific scoring trio of Brendan Hull (3 goals, 4 assists), Dakota Dubetz (2 goals, 5 assists) and Nathan Brummitt (1 goal, 6 assists) is on a roll. MSOE (4-0) has quietly put together a four-game winning streak while outscoring opponents, 23-5. Todd Krupa (6 goals, 2 assists) and Michael Soik (2 goals, 6 assists) lead the Raider scoring parade, but junior netminder Connor Toomey’s miniscule 1.32 GAA and .927 save-percentage will make this a particularly taut affair.
Marian, 4-2
