Regulation wins worth 3 points this year in women’s WCHA

The WCHA women’s league is moving to a three-point system for league games this season.

That means that a regulation win will be worth three points instead of two.

Both teams get one point for being tied after a five-minute overtime, and the winner of the ensuing shootout gets an extra point.

That’s the same system used by the CCHA in men’s hockey.
