Alaska, New Hampshire, Vermont and Minn.-Duluth all sit there and wait. They wait to see what will happen.
There are some obvious teams that all of these can root against.
Teams that have to win their tournaments to get in. Meaning, Maine, Union and Michigan.
A team that, if it wins, then it is in. Meaning Ferris State.
Let’s start with some things that I Believe In.
If Maine wins Hockey East or Union wins the ECAC or Michigan wins the CCHA or RIT wins Atlantic Hockey or Ferris State wins, Minn.-Duluth is eliminated. Yikes.
If Maine wins Hockey East or Union wins the ECAC, Vermont is eliminated. But there are still ways for Vermont to get eliminated if Maine and Union still lose.
If Miami or BC and Sacred Heart win on Saturday, UNH is in.
I can’t say anything that I believe in about Alaska. There are so many combinations with Alaska, that anything could happen. All I can say is if all of Maine, Michigan and Union wins, Alaska is in trouble.
