A few quick hits after the WCHA Play-In Game.
A lot of the possibilities still remain. The bubble remains the same. But there are some facts that we can look at:
– The list of TUC’s can only change one way – if RIT loses on Friday, then it is no longer a TUC and Minnesota State becomes a TUC. If RIT wins on Friday, but loses on Saturday, it still will remain a TUC. So basically, an RIT loss on Friday changes the TUCs by bringing in Minnesota State.
How does that change things?
It hurts Minnesota, as the Gophers were 1-2-1 against the Mavericks.
North Dakota was 3-1-0 against Minnesota State, a plus.
Denver and Minnesota-Duluth were 2-0. A plus.
Princeton and Yale were 1-0 against Minnesota State, a plus.
Wisconsin was 2-1-1. A plus.
Make your own assumptions as to who is rooting for whom here.
– How about the RIT side of it?
St. Lawrence was 1-0 against RIT, the only team that might benefit here.
More to come as the big weekend draws near.
There is a situation where NMU drops out as a TUC and RIT and Minnesota State are TUCs, but it’s a very limited way.
