St. Norbert Is Unanimous No. 1 In Nov. 27 D-III Men’s Poll

St. Norbert is the unanimous No. 1 in the USCHO.com Division III men’s hockey poll for Nov. 27. Leapfrogging third-place Manhattanville is No. 2 Norwich, moving up from No. 4.

Dropping from the top spot to No. 4 is Middlebury, after the Panthers dropped the Primelink Tournament first-round game to unranked Plattsburgh. Oswego, Wisconsin-River Falls and Wisconsin-Superior stood their ground at Nos. 5-7.

Moving up four spots to No. 8 is Neumann, after wins over Wisconsin-Stout and MSOE. Utica drops one place to No. 9, while Hobart moves up one spot to No. 10.

Bowdoin moved up two places to No. 13, while Wis.-Stout dropped two places to No. 12.

Entering the poll at No. 13 is 7-0 Mass.-Dartmouth, whose weekend wins included a repeat of last March’s NCAA rout of Geneseo. The Ice Knights dropped from No. 9 to No. 14 with that loss.

Rounding out the poll was Colby at No. 15. Dropping from the poll this week was New England College.

Other teams receiving votes included St. Scholastica, Plattsburgh, New England College, Curry and St. John’s.

The ECAC West placed four teams in the top 10, while the NCHA had four of the top 12 teams. Three teams from the NESCAC, two from the SUNYAC, and one each from the ECAC East and ECAC Northeast made the poll.

The USCHO.com Poll is compiled weekly and consists of 15 voters, including 13 coaches of Division III programs and two hockey writers. USCHO.com provides in-depth coverage of college sports, including hockey, lacrosse, soccer and others.
