Niagara athletics director Mike Hermann has stepped down after eight years to become the athletics director at Towson University in Towson, Md.
“The eight years I have spent at Niagara have been the most rewarding of my professional career. I have appreciated, in particular, the support of the president, Father Joseph Levesque,” Hermann said. “The greater Niagara community has also been supportive, with increased attendance and direct contributions that enable the program to achieve at such a high level.
Hermann becomes the fourth athletics director since Towson became an NCAA Division I institution in 1979. At Towson, Hermann will oversee 19 sports and a 100-member staff.
“As he prepares to move on in his career, I want to thank Mike, on behalf of the university community, for his many contributions to NU’s athletics program and commend him for the success he has achieved,” Niagara president Joseph L. Levesque, C.M. said. “I extend my best wishes to Mike and his wife, Paula, and their two sons for continued success at Towson.”
