St. Norbert kept its hold on No. 1 for a third consecutive week in Monday’s USCHO.com Men’s Division III poll. The Green Knights received 14 first-place votes and one fifth-place vote for 221 of 225 possible points. St. Norbert swept Wisconsin-Eau Clair last weekend in the first round of the NCHA playoffs.
At No. 2 is St. John’s with the other first-place vote, up one position from last week after a sweep of Augsburg. Moving up three places to No. 3 is NESCAC regular-season champ Trinity, after the Bantams beat Tufts and Conn. College.
Moving from fifth to fourth is Wisconsin-Superior; the Yellowjackets beat St. Scholastica twice in NCHA playoff action. Manhattanville dropped from No. 2 to No. 5 after losing 5-4 at Utica and beating RIT in overtime, 2-1.
Oswego moved up one place to sixth; the Lakers were idle, awaiting SUNYAC second-round play. No. 7 Middlebury moved up one position after beat St. Michael’s and rival Norwich, both on the road.
Norwich, which also dropped a game at home to Williams, fell four spots to No. 8. Up one position to No. 9 is Babson, after wins over St. Anselm and New England College.
Up three places after wins over Manhattanville and Lebanon Valley is Utica, at No. 10. Wisconsin-River Falls dropped two spots to No. 11 after a split with and a mini-game win over Wisconsin-Stout in the NCHA playoffs.
No. 12 St. Thomas stood pat after a tie and a win against Gustavus Adolpus. No. 13 Geneseo, which had a first-round bye in the SUNYAC playoffs, moved up two positions, despite being idle.
No. 14 Bowdoin fell three places after a win against Hamilton, but a loss to Amherst. No. 15 Fredonia dropped one position after a split with Cortland in the SUNYAC playoffs, culminating with an overtime mini-game win to advance.
Other teams receiving votes were Curry, Hobart, Plattsburgh, RIT, Bethel, and Colby.
