Karoly’s Goal Puts Williams in ECAC Final

Julia Karoly skated in alone from the blue line before scoring with a shot to the top shelf 9:05 into overtime to give Williams a 3-2 overtime win over Manhattanville on Saturday in an ECAC semifinal game.

Williams will take on Middlebury, who was a 3-1 winner over Colgate, in Sunday’s championship game at 1 p.m. Eastern.

Manhattanville answered at the 7:00 mark when Lindsey Dorval skated through the slot and wristed a shot to the near corner.

The second period started with a flurry as the teams exchanged goals in a 19-second span. Manhattanville took a 2-1 lead with a shorthanded goal as Annie Annuziato scored on a breakaway. Just 19 seconds later, Williams tied the game as Katherine Nicoll scored a power play goal from just outside the crease.

Renee Kirnan made 17 saves in goal for Manhattenville, while Monelle Quevillon made 25 saves in goal for Williams.
