Merrimack has signed coach Scott Borek to a multi-year extension, the school announced on Monday. Borek led Merrimack to its first-ever Hockey East tournament championship in 2025-26.
“I’m just excited to be at Merrimack,” Borek said via statement. “Having this opportunity, it’s not just for myself, it’s obviously for our program and the guys that I work with and every player in that room. When the school shows confidence in me, they show confidence in them. I hope that spreads throughout the fall and into our season because it’s going to be a very important thing to carry with us.”
Borek has compiled a 110-136-14 during his eight seasons at Merrimack, winning 19 or more games in three of the last five seasons. Since taking over in 2018, Borek has led the Warriors to the NCAA Tournament twice in the last four seasons with the 2025-26 team earning a spot after it defeated No. 1 Providence, No. 2 UMass and No. 3 UConn in the Hockey East tournament, becoming the first No. 8 seed to win the conference championship.
