Harvard at No. 1 Wisconsin

Harvard took a 1-0 lead Friday thanks to a power-play goal from Kristi Della Rovere less than four minutes into the game. Annie Pankowski answered with a short-handed goal a few minutes later to tie it up at one. Presley Norby tipped a Sophia Shaver shot in to give Wisconsin the 2-1 lead 12:28 into the first, and that would be the only scoring for the next 45 minutes. The Badgers outshot Harvard, 50-16, but Lindsay Reed was stellar in net for the Crimson, especially in the third period, when Wisconsin peppered her with 19 shots. Lexie Laing tied the game up with just 1:15 to go in regulation to force overtime. Pankowski won the game for the Badgers with just under two minutes to go in the extra frame for a 3-2 win. On Saturday, Britta Curl put the Badgers up 1-0 early in the second period. Kate Hallett responded for Harvard early in the third, and overtime was once again needed to decide a winner. Pankowski was once again the game-winner, becoming the first-ever Badger with back-to-back overtime game-winning goals as the Badgers won 2-1 and earned the sweep.

No. 2 Minnesota versus No. 8 St. Lawrence

Seven Gophers had multi-point games as Kelly Pannek netted a hat trick to lead Minnesota to an 8-2 win. Nadine Edney and Rachael Smith were the goal scorers for St. Lawrence. Minnesota advanced to the final of the Windjammer Classic.

No. 2 Minnesota versus Vermont

Catie Skaja opened the scoring just more than a minute into the game to give Minnesota the 1-0 lead. Kristina Shanahan tied it up for Vermont midway through the period, but Taylor Heise gave the Gophers a 2-1 lead heading into the first-period break. Amy Potomak and Emily Oden scored for Minnesota in the second to extend the lead to 4-1. Alyssa Gorecki cut the lead for Vermont in the third, but Kelly Pannek and Katie Robinson responded for Minnesota to give the Gophers a 6-2 win and the Windjammer Tournament title.

Minnesota Duluth at No. 3 Clarkson

Loren Gabel had a career game on Friday, scoring all four of Clarkson’s goals en route to a 4-1 win. Elizabeth Giguère tallied three assists in the win. It was 1-0 after the first, and UMD tied it up midway through the second with a goal from Gabbie Hughes, but Gabel responded less than three minutes later and it was all Clarkson from there. On Saturday, Michaela Pejzlová scored twice in the first to give Clarkson a 2-0 lead. Anneke Linser cut the lead in half for Minnesota Duluth, but TT Cianfarano scored a short-handed goal followed by a power-play goal in the second to put the game out of reach for the Bulldogs. Hughes tallied her second of the weekend, but it was not enough as the Golden Knights won 4-2. Giguère had two more assists, and she became the quickest player ever to reach 100 points in Clarkson program history.

No. 4 Boston College at Holy Cross

Kelly Browne had two goals, while Cayla Barnes added a goal and an assist to lead the Eagles to a 5-0 win over Holy Cross.

No. 7 Cornell at Robert Morris

Amber Rennie and Caitlyn Sadowy had Robert Morris up 2-0 a few minutes into the second, but Cornell scored five unanswered goals to win the game, 5-2. Willow Slobodzian scored twice to lead the Big Red in a four-goal second period that was the difference-maker. Jamie Bourbonnais had a goal and two assists for Cornell in the win. On Saturday, the bulk of the goals came in a 2:19 stretch of the second period. Kristin O’Neill opened the scoring to give Cornell a 1-0 lead, but Rennie responded 39 seconds later to tie the game. O’Neill netted a second less than a minute later, and Slobodzian extended the lead to 3-1 36 seconds later. Robert Morris clawed back to earn a 3-3 tie thanks to a pair of third-period power-play goals from Emily Curlett. Jaycee Gebhard had three assists for Robert Morris in the tie.

No. 9 Providence versus Yale

Providence outshot the Bulldogs, 13-3, in the first period, but the frame ended scoreless. Christina Putigna opened the scoring for the Friars midway through the second. Christina Welch tied the game for Yale midway through the third, but Sara Hjalmarsson scored the game-winner with just more than five to go in the third to give Providence the 2-1 win.

No. 9 Providence versus Quinnipiac

Kate MacKenzie put Quinnipiac on the board just before the end of the first period to give the Bobcats a 1-0 lead, and the game would stay that way well into the third period. Hayley Lunny tallied her first multi-goal game of her career as she scored twice in the final frame to give Providence the 2-1 win and Nutmeg Classic title. It was the eighth-straight win for Providence.
