{"id":74807,"date":"2017-01-20T15:32:55","date_gmt":"2017-01-20T21:32:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.uscho.com\/?p=74807"},"modified":"2017-01-20T15:32:55","modified_gmt":"2017-01-20T21:32:55","slug":"merrimack-adds-nahl-defenseman-jeff-solow-to-roster-for-second-half-of-16-17-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wp-admin.uscho.com\/2017\/01\/20\/merrimack-adds-nahl-defenseman-jeff-solow-to-roster-for-second-half-of-16-17-season\/","title":{"rendered":"Merrimack adds NAHL defenseman Solow to roster for second half of &#8217;16-17 season"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Merrimack announced Friday the addition of defenseman Jeff Solow to the roster for the second half of the 2016-17 season.<\/p>\n<p>Solow, a Naples, Fla., native, arrived in North Andover, Mass., this week as a mid-year enrollee after playing 33 games for the Amarillo Bulls of the NAHL.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Jeff was the best player on his team and one of the best defensemen in the NAHL,&#8221; said Merrimack coach Mark Dennehy in a statement. &#8220;I want to thank [Amarillo] Coach [Matt] Nicholson for his commitment to Jeff&#8217;s development. This could be a real shot in the arm for our club down the home stretch.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Before his departure from the Bulls, Solow was among the most productive blueliners in the NAHL this season, scoring seven goals while adding 20 assists for 27 points, good for&#160;second overall on&#160;the Bulls.&#160;For his NAHL career, he posted 50 points in 97 games, while over the last two seasons, he posted 41 points (10 goals, 31 assists) in 56 games.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, Solow was named the NAHL&#8217;s Defenseman of the Month for December after he posted 11 points (two goals, nine assists) in nine games.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Merrimack announced Friday the addition of defenseman Jeff Solow to the roster for the second half of the 2016-17 season.
