{"id":47056,"date":"2012-11-27T16:02:04","date_gmt":"2012-11-27T22:02:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.uscho.com\/?p=47056"},"modified":"2012-11-27T16:02:04","modified_gmt":"2012-11-27T22:02:04","slug":"with-need-for-more-private-funds-bemidji-state-to-replace-ad-goeb","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wp-admin.uscho.com\/2012\/11\/27\/with-need-for-more-private-funds-bemidji-state-to-replace-ad-goeb\/","title":{"rendered":"With need for more private funds, Bemidji State to replace AD Goeb"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to a story in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bemidjipioneer.com\/content\/bsu-plans-replace-athletic-director-cites-need-more-private-funding\"><em>Bemidji Pioneer<\/em><\/a>, Bemidji State athletic director Rick Goeb will be replaced at the end of the 2012-13 school year.<\/p>\n<p>BSU president Richard Hanson sent an email to supporters of school athletics Monday notifying them of this move and said it comes following a comprehensive review of the athletics department.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The common theme among those priorities is a need for increased funding on several fronts: to bolster our coaching staffs, to increase the availability of scholarships for our student-athletes, and to improve our facilities,&#8221; Hanson wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Goeb, who was hired as BSU&#8217;s first full-time athletics director in 2001 and oversaw the school&#8217;s Division I men&#8217;s hockey program jump to the WCHA in 2010, also commented to the Pioneer.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m just going to say that in 12 years, we&#8217;ve accomplished a lot,&#8221; Goeb said &#8220;I&#8217;m very proud &#8230; looking at where our programs were in 2001 and where they are today. The coaches we&#8217;ve brought in have been first-rate. We&#8217;ve accomplished quite a bit in a short period of time. We&#8217;ve won conference championships.
