{"id":32951,"date":"2010-11-08T19:01:03","date_gmt":"2010-11-09T01:01:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.uscho.com\/?p=32951"},"modified":"2010-11-08T19:01:03","modified_gmt":"2010-11-09T01:01:03","slug":"five-teams-garner-first-place-votes-bu-on-top","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wp-admin.uscho.com\/2010\/11\/08\/five-teams-garner-first-place-votes-bu-on-top\/","title":{"rendered":"Five teams garner first place votes, BU on top"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Boston University has claimed the top spot in this week&#8217;s USCHO.com Division I Men&#8217;s Poll.<\/p>\n<p>Last week&#8217;s top-ranked team, Miami, falls all the way to No. 4, while Minnesota-Duluth stays in the second spot and Yale jumps from No. 5 to No. 3.<\/p>\n<p>Maine, up to No. 5 from No. 7, rounds out the top five.<\/p>\n<p>This week&#8217;s new sixth-ranked team, Nebraska-Omaha, received a first place vote for the first time and their No. 6 ranking is tied for their highest ranking ever. The Mavericks were also ranked sixth back on Oct. 29, 2001 and Nov. 5, 2001.<\/p>\n<p>Another nugget of trivia is further down the poll where one team is in unfamiliar territory.<\/p>\n<p>Western Michigan, in this week&#8217;s poll at No. 17, is ranked for the first time since March 4, 2002, when it was 14th.<\/p>\n<p>Ferris State, fresh off a dominating weekend against Miami, enters the poll at No. 20 this week.<\/p>\n<p>BU, Minnesota-Duluth, Yale, Miami and UNO all received first place votes this week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Boston University has claimed the top spot in this week&#8217;s USCHO.com Division I Men&#8217;s Poll.
