USCHO.com/CSTV Division I men’s poll saw Cornell earn a majority of first-place votes, but Colorado College gain the top spot overall.

The Tigers, who were idle last weekend, took only 12 of 40 first-place votes but managed 556 points overall to return to No. 1, three points ahead of No. 2 Cornell despite the Big Red’s 21 first-place votes, which were earned after a sweep of Clarkson and St. Lawrence. Cornell’s 14-game unbeaten streak is the best in the nation.

Last week’s top-ranked team, Denver, fell to third after splitting with Minnesota State, while Michigan held at No. 4 after a weekend off.

The next four poll positions were also stable: No. 5 Boston College took three points from still-No. 7 New Hampshire, and Wisconsin stayed sixth despite getting just one of four points at North Dakota. Eighth place again went to Ohio State, another team idle last weekend.

Minnesota rebounded three spots to No. 9 after a sweep of St. Cloud State, displacing new No. 10 Boston University, which lost and tied against Northeastern.

Harvard was again No. 11 after a week of extremes, beating Brown before losing to Dartmouth and tying Vermont. Maine rose two spots to No. 12 by sweeping Massachusetts-Lowell, which dropped three places to No. 13 as a result of that series.

Northern Michigan climbed one notch to No. 14 in the wake of its sweep of Ferris State, and the final slot in the poll went to Dartmouth, which swept Harvard and Brown to replace Colgate in the rankings.
