Brian Durocher, the long-time assistant coach with the Boston University men’s program, has been picked to be the first coach of the school’s new women’s program, according to a report at USHR.com. The Terriers women’s program is set to begin play in 2005-06.<\/p>\n
USHR also reports that former BU skater David Quinn is the likely successor to Durocher as Jack Parker’s assistant. Quinn currently coaches the U.S. Under-17 team as part of the National Team Development Program. He was a finalist for the Vermont head coaching opening in 2003.<\/p>\n
Durocher is a former goaltender for BU. He’s also been an assistant coach at Colgate and Brown. Durocher was also the interim head coach at Colgate in 1990-91 when head coach Terry Slater died unexpectedly in midseason.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
