Clarkson has narrowed the candidates for its vacant head coaching position to four finalists, all of whom are former assistants — Jim Roque, Ron Rolston, George Roll, and Greg Dreschel — according to the U.S. Hockey Report.

According to sources, the list is final, and will not include any more names. Clarkson set a Jan. 15 deadline for applicants, making it difficult for current Division I head coaches to get involved in the process.

Roque, a current assistant at Lake Superior State, was an assistant at Clarkson for six seasons (1995-2001). He played at LSSU until 1987 for Frank Anzalone, and then became an assistant under Anzalone and Jeff Jackson before leaving for Clarkson. He returned to LSSU when Anzalone returned to the head coaching position there.
