The Friars had  a chance to open the scoring but Brown goaltender Pam Dreyer made a big save on senior Angela Hill&#8217;s  breakaway attempt two minutes into the game.<\/p>\n<p>In the second period neither team could score.  PC outshot Brown, 10-9, in the period and went 0-2 on the power play.  For the game, the  Friars outshot Brown, 31-22, but could not convert on the power play (0-5).<\/p>\n<p>The Bears erupted for three third-period goals in a span of 1:21 to put the game out of reach.  Junior Kim Insalaco made  the score 2-0 at the 5:03 mark, while Zamora tallied two more goals just  23 seconds apart.<\/p>\n<p>Dreyer stopped all 31 Providence shots in the win, while Amy Quinlan made 18 saves in the loss.<\/p>\n<p>With the loss, the Friars fell to 5-8-2 overall, while Brown improved to 5-5-1.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Seventh-ranked Brown defeated Providence, 4-0, in the seventh annual Mayor&#8217;s Cup on Sunday at PC&#8217;s Schneider Arena.
