Buffalo State scored five second period goals en route to a 7-2 win over the Utica College Pioneers in the Buffalo State All Sport Invitational.<\/p>\n

The Pioneers, in their first-ever collegiate game, scored first, as Scott Leygraff tallied at 5:51 of the first period, for Utica’s only lead.<\/p>\n

The Bengals tied the game at 1-1 on a power play goal by Jason Comardo at 11:35 of the first.<\/p>\n

The Bengals reeled off four straight goals in the second, as Mark Yoder scored in a 5-on-3, Mark Infantino and Dan Vogel added even-strength goals, and Joe Urbanik scored shorthanded.<\/p>\n

Leygraff notched his second goal of the contest, unassisted, to close the gap to 5-2, before Buffalo State’s Rocky Reeves scored on the power play late in the period.<\/p>\n

Josh Bluman added a penalty shot at 6:11 of the third for the Bengals.<\/p>\n

Nick Berti made 27 saves for Buffalo State for his first win in goal this season, while Mike Beacham stopped 28 shots for Utica in the loss.<\/p>\n

Utica (0-1-0) faces Fredonia at Buffalo State Saturday at 4:00 p.m., while Buffalo State (1-2-0) hosts Milwaukee School of Engineering at 7:00 p.m.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
