The Bears netted the only goal in the first frame, as Tyler Bird scored his second goal of the year. After Lappin got the puck deep into the zone for a line change, Lafferty corralled the puck along the boards and fed Bird at the point, and Bird deked around a defender into the slot for a quick wrist shot that beat Colton Phinney through traffic.

Midway through the second, Mark Naclerio and Lafferty tallied two quick goals to give the Bears a generous 3-0 lead. First, Naclerio scored on a rebound from a Joey de Concilys shot from the the point, and then Lafferty tallied as he threw the puck in front from behind the net, and the puck took a fortunate bounce and crossed the goal line.

Brown padded their lead once more with just 7 seconds left in the period, as Matt Lorito took a pass from Josh McArdle behind the net, and Lorito fed Lappin in front for a bang-bang play to take a 4-0 lead.

The Tigers finally broke through on goaltender Tim Ernst at 11:48 of the third, as Kevin Liss netted his first collegiate goal. As Princeton was on the penalty kill, Liss intercepted a pass at the blue line and raced down the ice chased by Massimo Lamacchia. As Lamacchia dove for a poke-check the two players went down in front of the net, and Liss slipped the puck past Ernst before the players collided and knocked the net off the right post. The goal was reviewed by the officials and allowed to stand.

Princeton pulled Phinney for the final 4:54 of the game but was unable to solve Ernst, who stopped 19 shots in the final stanza.

Ernst improved to 6-5-1 in the win for Brown, finishing with 31 saves. Phinney made 23 saves for Princeton.
