PROVIDENCE, R.I. –<\/strong> Connecticut pulled off an upset\u00a0on Saturday<\/span>\u00a0knocking off Providence, 3-1, on the road to earn a split on the\u00a0Thursday<\/span>–Saturday<\/span>\u00a0series.<\/p>\n

The Huskies jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals by Johnny Austin and Joseph Masonius before Brian Pinho cut the lead to one on a goal with\u00a05:41<\/span>\u00a0left in the second.<\/p>\n

Neither team mustered many shots in the third but Max Letunov put the game away for UConn with an empty netter with 53 second remaining.<\/p>\n
