Colgate’s Sean Nolan scored his second goal of the night with 1:51 left in overtime to lift the Red Raiders to a 3-2 win over Vermont Saturday. It was the second straight overtime loss for the Catamounts, who dropped a decision to Cornell a night earlier.<\/p>\n

Colgate (5-12-3, 3-5-0 ECAC), got on the scoreboard 11:33 of the first period when Sean Nolan scored his 14th goal of the season on a tip of a shot by Rob Brown.<\/p>\n

The Red Raiders made it 2-0 on the power play at 14:34 of the period when Mike O’Malley jammed the puck home from right in front of Vermont’s Andrew Allen.<\/p>\n

After a scoreless second period, which saw Vermont outshoot Colgate, 10-8, the Catamounts cut the Red Raider lead to 2-1 when Bryson Busniuk picked up a long rebound of a shot and beat Jason Lefevre at 1:36 of the third period. Andreas Moborg and Jeff Miles assisted on the goal, Busniuk’s ninth of the season.<\/p>\n

Vermont tied the score, 2-2, at 6:20 of the third when J.F. Caudron scored his 11th of the season on a rebound of a Graham Mink shot. Moborg also assisted. The goal was Caudron’s sixth in the last eight games.<\/p>\n

In the overtime, Colgate’s Scooter Smith had a great chance in front that Allen steered wide with 2:30 before Nolan scored his 15th of the season to give the Red Raiders the win.<\/p>\n

Vermont (9-7-1, 5-3-1) is now winless in its last four league games after starting the season 5-0.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
