{"id":1304,"date":"2000-11-12T19:02:27","date_gmt":"2000-11-13T01:02:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.uscho.com\/2000\/11\/12\/saums-hat-trick-leads-air-force-over-augsburg\/"},"modified":"2010-08-23T11:54:26","modified_gmt":"2010-08-23T16:54:26","slug":"saums-hat-trick-leads-air-force-over-augsburg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wp-admin.uscho.com\/recaps\/2000\/11\/12\/saums-hat-trick-leads-air-force-over-augsburg\/","title":{"rendered":"Saum&#8217;s Hat Trick Leads Air Force Over Augsburg"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Freshman Shane Saum tallied his first collegiate hat trick to lead Air Force to a 7-1 win over Division III Augsburg and a sweep of the series.<\/p>\n<p>Saum put the Falcons on the board first with a power play goal at 7:23 but Jaro Cesky tied the game for the Auggies just 30 seconds later.<\/p>\n<p>Saum&#8217;s second goal came with 5:22 remaining int he first period as Brian Reaney sent a centering pass from the right corner that Saum punched in.<\/p>\n<p>In the second period Derek Olson scored on a two-on-one.  Then Scott Bradley scored on the power play to make it 4-1 and soon after Andy Berg&#8217;s power play goal made it 5-1.<\/p>\n<p>With 15 seconds left in the second period Kyle Fransdal stole the puck in the neutral zone and went in uncontested for the shorthanded breakaway goal.<\/p>\n<p>Saum collected his hat trick goal in the third period with 1:22 left in the game.
