Wisconsin-Stout beat Wisconsin-Superior 2-1 Friday, thanks in part to Stout coach Terry Watkins’ change of plans. <\/p>\n
Watkins had planned to use two goalies, replacing starter Ben Plester with Jeff Dotson or Justin Wiskie at some point. But Plester stayed in the whole game and stopped 38 shots. <\/p>\n
Andy Anderson scored both goals for Stout. <\/p>\n
After a scoreless first period, Anderson scored unassisted almost seven minutes into the second, hitting the shot from high in the left circle. Superior tied the score midway through the third period, getting a shorthanded goal by Jeff Glowa. <\/p>\n
But Anderson scored the game-winner 56 seconds later on a power play. Anderson took passes from Drew Nichols and Cullen Flaherty to score from the slot. <\/p>\n
