Peter Krieger scored the game-winning goal with 4:50 remaining as the host Bulldogs rolled past the Huskies, 5-1 at AMSOIL Arena in downtown Duluth, Minn.
UMD, winners of six straight in league play, led 5-0 entering the third before Ryan Poehling spoiled Bulldogs goalie Hunter Shepard’s shutout bid early in the third. Shepard finished with 24 saves while SCSU’s David Hrenak made 13 stops.
Karson Kuhlman scored twice, including the second of two shorthanded goals late in the second that slammed the door shut on SCSU. Joey Anderson added a goal and assist.
