Zach’s power-play goal breaks tie as RIT downs Syracuse

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Erin Zach’s second-period, power-play goal broke a tie and sent Rochester Institute of Technology to a 3-1 victory over Syracuse on Friday.

Zach and Kourtney Kunichika each had a goal and an assist for the Tigers (15-15-3, 10-7-2 CHA).

Margot Scharfe scored in the first period and Jenesica Drinkwater made 29 saves for the Orange (18-12-3, 9-7-3).

RIT’s Ali Binnington stopped 23 of the 24 shots she faced.
